Woke up today and I dragged myself out of my bed and went down for a run. Wanted to complete 5km but I pressed on and continue a 8km. YEAH.
Decided to dig out this book that we were studying for our literature.
Decided to dig out this book that we were studying for our literature.
So I read it and slowly digest about the characters and reflect. Oh my. My brain cells died :(
Shall just blog what I have thought through when I was reading the book.
Baobabs are like problems.
We must solve our problems before they grow and get rooted into our mind/heart.
If not solved immediately, your negative thoughts will act as fertilisers and water to aid the growth of the seed. It will bloom into a bad tree, worsen and eventually cause you to break down.
Asteroids 325, King.
Describes the insecurities that is present in all of us.
Insecurities destroy us, make us desperate for reassurance and as a result, makes us vulnerable by the words of others.
We will do whatever it takes to hear reassurance from others.
But in my opinion, I think that the most important factor is that we must secure ourselves and not rely on other people's compliment.
Because you'll never be satisfied with compliments if you never learn to learn how to love yourself for who you are. Greed is one of the most deathly sin.
Asteroids 326, conceited man
We often only think about ourselves and are very concerned of how others perceive us. Proud and self centred trait is in every single one of us. Ot is in human nature that we crave for compliments. That will be the cause of our downfall. There's a saying in Chinese ' 温室里的小花' simply put, you cant deal with a little thunderstorm in life because you're too protected. If we do not have constructive comments, we will not improve and be a better person. There is no point in forcing/manipulating others to give you compliments when they don't mean it just so that it can feed your self satisfaction.
Asteroids 327, drunkard
When we attempt to hide away from problems, we will make it worse.
It will only cause another to surface an often, the second problem is worse than the first.
Asteroids 328 , businessman
We have the concept that everything will be solved if we are billionares. Everything will be simpler and easier to get. It is true to a certain extend but everybody will have problems in their life.
We are too busy with earning money to even care about what really matters in our life, what makes us happy. Yes, money is essential but we must know when to relax and use the hard earn money instead of saving them up in bank.
Having a lot of money in the bank doesn't guarantee that you'll be happy. We should live life to the fullest. Enjoy what we love to do. Be it baking or sleeping or something simple that is not base on materialistic stuffs.
Asteroids 329, lamplighter
We shouldn't blindly follow orders without understanding the true meaning behind the orders. Not only orders, but also what we are doing. I bet at certain point of time, you just blindly followed the instructions of our parents/teachers/peers. Like '
Fox. What is essential is invisible to the eye
Somewhat talking about relationships. The fox used terms like "Tame me".
I guess what it is trying to say that to us, the people we see when we go out are just humans like a million of other humans. But it is because of the bond between each other/friends/family/lover that is why they are unique to us. It is also because of this bond that we risk ourselves a few tears, getting vulnerable as we care for those who share the unique bond.
Railway points man
This sent me into deep thoughts. What exactly are we chasing after in life? We rush to school, rush to meet our friends. But what for? When we were younger, we used to get excited even at the slightest things. We are willing to waste our time on tv programs like powerpuff girls, hi5 and the list goes on. It becomes a part of my childhood where I'll just camp in front of the TV from 5.30pm to 6.30pm during the weekdays to get my daily dosage of happiness. But now, I think that TV programs are a waste of time. A lot of things are a waste of my time.
But the question to myself is, what am I saving up the time for?
One is never happy where one is.
"People leap into express trains but they no longer know what they are looking for. So they get agitated and go round in circles, It is not worth the trouble."
In the evening, I went out with my mum and brother to the Merlion Park. Dad fetched us home and I can't describe how much do I love long car rides, especially those in the night.
